Crown Achievement

Crown Achievement is Lane Limited's latakia-forward blend, built with latakia, Virginia, Macedonian-sourced oriental leaves and perique, in a ribbon cut. Perique was reportedly removed from the formula around 2004 and restored when the blend was reissued in 2012 using the original recipe kept in old records. At one point it was cited as the most expensive pipe tobacco on the market.

The flavor profile is earthy and leathery, carrying a dry hay and spice side; it's neither distinctly sweet nor bitter. Latakia leads but isn't dominant on its own; Virginia and oriental leaves add a subdued sweetness and sharpness. Suited to smokers seeking a medium-bodied, unflavored English-Balkan-style blend.
